Yoga lowers blood pressure

Yoga may be as effective as medication when it comes to treating high blood pressure, according to research by a Canadian cardiac centre. In the study, 60 people with high blood pressure were assigned to either relaxation, deep breathing, stretching or yoga. After three months, those doing yoga had the most dramatic improvements in blood pressure, which was lowered by around 10%. The results astonished the researchers so much that they’re following up with a much bigger trial of 500 people to validate the findings.
