The power of turmeric

When we heard that runners were using a turmeric powder to overcome injuries and train harder, we had to investigate. The powder, Turmerix, combines turmeric with pepper to make it more bio-available. Fitness First mag staff member Jo Henao tried it when training for the Chinese Great Wall Marathon, and went from running just 20km a week and struggling with a calf injury to powering through 60km a week with her calf no longer an issue, just six weeks later. Not a double-blind study, but a positive result for Jo.
