Greatest smoothies: Hydrating tropical punch

At Fitness First we love anything healthy that tastes good. So we commissioned nutritionist Kathleen Alleaume to develop a series of delicious smoothies that you can enjoy over the festive season and beyond. We launch the series with the “Tropical Punch” smoothie. This is a zesty tropical delight filled with hydrating fruit, vegetables and coconut water (minus the refined added sugar and calories). Perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up with a handful of nuts.

  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 2 cups watermelon
  • 1 passionfruit
  • 1 small cucumber
  • 2–3 mint leaves, torn
  • 1/4 lime zest
  • 1/2cm fresh ginger

Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth then serve.
