The future: a doctor in your pocket

    If you thought health trackers were a fad, they’re well on their way to replacing your doctor.

    In a glimpse of the future, Google’s Verily Life Sciences outfitted 10,000 volunteers with wearable health trackers that will track not just movement, but also electrocardiogram, heart rate and electrodermal activity data, creating a complete picture of their health.

    This points to a time when an AI-powered diagnostic tool keeps watch on you and alerts you when the data spots the beginning of a disease or a medical problem.
