The no-maintenance manicure
When life gets busy, Bec believes nude nails are the best. “I don’t think I’ve had my nails professionally done since I had Oscar. I figure that a nicely groomed natural nail looks better than chipped polish, and I’ll chip it within an hour of getting it done, no matter how long I’ve left it to dry!”
Active skincare yields results
Bec favours results-driven skincare, but looks specifically for formulations that don’t contain parabens or sulfates. “I’ve just started using The Skincare Company and they’re fantastic! They’re made in Australia, are cruelty-free and have heaps of active ingredients and no nasties in it.”
Use concealers and highlighters to contour
Having spent her early 20s modelling meant Bec picked up more than a few makeup tricks. She uses different shades of concealer to create depth on her face and highlighters to emphasise bone structure. “I use the Hourglass Ambient Powder in Ethereal Light for eye bags and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal to highlight. Stila in Petunia is my number one blush at the moment.”
Make dry shampoo your best friend
Dry shampoo isn’t just for getting an extra day out of your blowdry. It’s also great on freshly washed hair for adding texture and keeping a curl in. “I wash my hair, dry it off, spray with Klorane Dry Shampoo in the roots for volume, then tong with H2D tongs for a loose wave. I’ll back comb the roots for a little extra volume or just pump it up with my fingers and let the dry shampoo work its magic. This will usually stay in for a couple of days so it’s great for a busy mum!”
Smudge out your liner to soften your look
“When I go out I always add a bit of kohl liner to my inner rims and wing it out a tad on my top, outer lash line. I’ll smudge it with a small brush to make it look smouldering rather than just a line drawn on. The NARS eyeshadow palette has dark, chocolate browns that are perfect for blending the kohl liner. I find NARS eyeshadows are great as they’re so highly pigmented.”
Get fit, do H.I.I.T
Bec keeps her lithe figure in check with a mixture of High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) and Pilates. She swears by Tabata sprints on the Watt bike. “It’s the hardest, worst spin bike you’ve ever been on in your life! I only do four minutes on it a day. The Tabata Spring goes twenty second sprint, ten second rest and repeat, and it kills you. But it’s only four minutes then its done.”
